Emersion II is one of two paintings reflecting on the inseparable link between human and natural environmental forms. The figure and the environment are one energy, each thriving from and communicating with the other. Summer brings most of us outside where we celebrate nature and where we are emersed in and energized by the sun, rain, and wind that our minds and bodies experience. The many layers of glazed paint creates a depth you can sink into and the deeply scribed and impasto marks within the painting speak to scribbles in the sand or ripples in the ocean or perhaps drops of water on a spring surface.
